Mondre Energy Partnering with Exeter Associates to Address Energy Issues in Maryland

(April, 2010—PHILADELPHIA) Mondre Energy, Inc. (MEI), a leading energy strategies firm based in Philadelphia, is partnering with Exeter Associates to address a wide range of energy issues on behalf of the State of Maryland’s Power Plant Research Program. The Power Plant Research Program works to ensure that Maryland meets its electricity demands while protecting the State's valuable natural resources.

Exeter Associates, Inc. — an energy, economics, and regulatory consulting firm — selected Mondre Energy to assist with the project, which will include issues relating to electric utility economics; power plant design and siting; load forecasting; electric generation and transmission; alternative energy technologies; utility regulation; power plant and transmission line licensing; market restructuring environmental impacts; smart meter and smart grid technologies; and other issues.

“We are pleased to have MEI as part of the team because of the firm’s understanding of energy markets and issues in Maryland and because of the quality and experience of MEI’s staff,” said Steven Estomin of Exeter Associates. “The resources provided by Mondre Energy will help ensure that we can address this project’s large volume of complex energy issues.”

Mondre Energy has worked in Maryland before, most recently with the government of Montgomery County, on energy strategic planning, procurement, and demand reduction. A green power procurement program developed in concert with MEI earned the County—and Mondre Energy—two National Association of Counties awards for innovative procurement and green power procurement.
